Fishing
Scottland Farm is home to several ponds that are home to large populations of BIG fish!
Artificial lures only, strictly catch and release.
Various species of fish native to the east cost region of Virginia are plentiful:
- Large Mouth Bass
- Sun Perch
- Crappie
- Catfish
- Giant Suckers
- Pike
Guests are encouraged to bring their fishing tackle when staying here at the farm. However for those without gear or even knowledge about how to catch fish will find gear rentals and lessons available. Please inquire about rentals or lessons when you book your stay to ensure they are scheduled for you.

Hiking
Hiking opportunities galore await you here at Scottland Farm. With 1,000 private acres to roam there is a trail for every hiker both experienced and casual. Trails vary in difficulty and endurance requirement.
Trails Include:
Easy going field edge trails and pond strolls.
Long meandering gravel lanes.
Scenic creek side trails.
Wilderness back country trails.
Wildlife is plentiful here so bring your camera!
Cornhole & Yard Games
Enjoy some REAL family time! We have lots of games that people can play outdoors with their family, friends or event guests. Games include:

- Horse Shoes
- Croquet
- And More...
If you have a favorite that you would like to bring please get permission ahead of time and be sure it is permitted here. Unless it's frowned upon by our insurance man we will probably allow it. 🙂
Foraging
Depending on the time of year and your knowledge level you may be able to "Live Off The Land"! We have a natural abundance here at the farm that includes:
- Mushroom Hunting
- Berry Picking
- Apple Picking
- Many edible plants only know to those who know them.
